There were quite a few visitors when we went and trying to get clear shots was difficult. I hadn't even noticed this guy in the shot until someone mentioned it.

Beautiful shot. I've never been to this abbey, but I went to Tintern Abbey. Really lovely place. Places like these--you can only wonder just how beautiful they must have been when they were fully in tact.

They had a picture of what it must have looked like inside - absolutely beautiful. Such a shame all that's left are these ruins; although they do make for wonderful photographs.

I bet. Agreed, it is a shame, but yeah, they do make great pictures. And they're actually perfect spots to just sit and think. They're so peaceful.

I was there a while back! Took a picture myself [link] Can't imagine it's changed much since I was there...
I love Whitby, and this is a lovely shot of the Abbey!

Your picture is great and now, it hasn't changed much. I think the English heritage will preserve what's left as much as possible. It is a great place to visit, very popular (quite a few visitors when I was there).

Yes, unfortunately it's a popular place and there was quite a lot of visitors, very difficult to get a shot without them in it.

No, I don't remember seing a coffin, unless that was the dug out place around the back of the abbey. It was a good visit though and I am looking forward to going back for another look round.
