The ward I work on had it's CQC inspection yesterday and we came out of it really well. CQC Inspectors (for those of you who don't know) are the people who check up on hospitals and care homes to make sure standards are being met and they have the power to close you down if improvements aren't made. They are currently following a programme where all NHS Trusts are being inspected and it's currently our Trust's turn. It has almost bee worth the months of stress and nit-picking over tiny little problems - I say almost, it's been a total pain; we're very busy this time of year and the inspection creates a lot of extra work and so I've had to work late several times just to try and keep up with the day to day stuff.
This is all I've had in my head outside of work, which has meant a lot of writers block. So now it's out of the way I'm hoping I can concentrate a bit more on my writing.
I'm busy working on a piece for the New Character Month over in and planning a few other projects. I'm going to be off work for at least a week from the 28th as I'm having nail surgery to remove an ingrowing toenail. So, laid up at home means more time to work on my intended projects.
Stay well and keep on creating!
